About a year ago, I was asked to do a Reiki session for a beautiful young lady named Linda. Unfortunately, her fiancé Chris had experienced a medical issue and was now in a coma. He had been hospitalized in the ICU for a few days with no signs of waking up. So with all other medical options exhausted, she turned to Reiki.
As I entered the hospital room with his loved ones surrounding him, I immediately felt the loving energy in this small confined space. I felt the hope for his health to get better. And even though he was unconscious and couldn’t communicate, as a medium I felt his presence in the room.
I immediately set up my crystals and sound bowls, and began the Reiki healing. Halfway through the session, Chris pulled my attention. He wanted to let his family know that he loved them and that he was trying to find a way out of the maze he was stuck in. He honestly didn’t know which way to go, or what he was supposed to do. There was so much confusion and so many unanswered questions.
I let him know that I was only there to help heal his body through Reiki, but that I would relay the message. He thanked me and continued on his own journey in his mind.
I communicated this message to Linda and his family, and while it did provide some level of comfort, it’s also important to understand that Reiki is not meant to cure every condition.
Sometimes, Reiki helps to ease the soul into transition. There is nothing anyone can do about it. Ultimately, we are all on our own spiritual journey – the Universe is in control and we must have faith that everything will work out how it’s supposed to.
After a few days, Chris ended up transitioning to the other side peacefully, and I believe Reiki allowed his soul to complete his human experience in a much more accepting and peaceful way. So, while Reiki did not cure his physical body, it did provide his soul support.
I write this post, not to scare you away from Reiki, but to encourage you to use it as a modality to guide you on the right path in alignment of where you are meant to be.
A few months ago, Chris appeared to me through a mediumship reading for another client and urged me to reconnect with Linda because she needed healing, so I invited her into my office for a Reiki healing.
Little did I know, she was on her own healing journey and at that exact moment, she was feeling lost and needed the healing now more than ever. We scheduled a day for her to come into my office, and I was overwhelmed with the love Chris had for her. He joined me spiritually in the Reiki healing for Linda and it was such a beautiful thing to witness. In the session, he showed me birds were his sign for her, reminding her of their love.
While grief will not magically disappear, Reiki allowed Linda to experience it in a more accepting way. She was able to continue on in her own spiritual healing here in the physical world, receiving confirmation that Chris is still here with her assisting in her growth and guiding her every step of the way.
As an added layer of reassurance, Linda was now able to see her signs from him more clearly. She sent me this video a few weeks later letting me know that she has been seeing birds everywhere. You see, during times of grief, we end up sitting in this moment of sadness and aren’t able to think straight. We are blinded by all of the dark clouds. But, in this particular experience, Reiki allowed her mind to process the grief much better clearing those dark clouds away, which in turn allowed her to feel and hear her fiancé’s messages.
So, you see, Reiki is not linear. It is not a one size fits all approach. Reiki doesn’t always heal the way you expect or want it to. But, the beautiful thing is that it does give us the opportunity to see things clearly and trust that everything will work out the way it’s supposed to.
If you or someone you know would love to experience the power of Reiki, I invite you to book a session and experience it for yourself. Uncovering it’s magic is the first step to healing.
